Activities of Teenagers (AOT) Clubroom

The Activities of Teenagers (AOT) Clubroom was officially launched on 15 April 2016 by Mr Chia Song Leng, then-Chairman/School Advisory Committee in conjunction with our Speech Day celebrations.

The clubroom was conceptualised based on the school’s assessment of student needs as well as students’ feedback and suggestions. The clubroom is an important pillar in building a school culture of care and engendering a sense of school belonging. It seeks to provide a comfortable environment for students to study, relax and foster bonding with their schoolmates. Preparation for the clubroom began in earnest in end-2015, with proposals made for the retrofitting of an existing classroom on the ground floor.

Aside from a study corner, the AOT clubroom has various games such as an Xbox machine, a Playstation, a pool table, as well as a range of board-games. The layout and furnishing of the room were specially calibrated to provide a warm sense of welcome for all students. To engender student ownership and to provide a greater sense of comfort, student representatives were involved in every stage of the process, from crafting the proposal, selection of furnishing, decoration of the clubroom to the daily running of the clubroom. The motto for the AOT room is “Work Hard, Play Hard with Happiness”. All students are welcome to visit us every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon!
